I wanted a rustic distressed look, thence I applied dark pigment around the edges of my woods thence added 2 coats of white paint.

Once the pigment was dry out it was fourth dimension to add together the printable.  I reversed the ikon earlier printing, thence it would read correctly when transferred.

I applied a generous total of Mod Podge to my printable thence pressed it firmly against the woods in addition to allow it dry out overnight.

To unwrap the image, I moisture the newspaper alongside a dish rag in addition to gently scrubbed until the hand layer of newspaper peeled away.  Don't scrub likewise difficult or you'll withdraw role of your image.  

When I was happy alongside how my ikon looked I allow the woods dry, sanded the edges to unwrap some of the dark pigment underneath thence sealed the woods alongside H2O based poly.
